Frank's Headstone & Memorial Service - APRIL 2006
Frank passed away on 17 May 2005. It's hard to believe that in a few days he'll have been gone for THREE years. GONE, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN. I miss you Mr. Gorshin.
There was a private memorial service for only family and a few friends held on 5 April 2006 (which would have been Frank's 73rd birthday). As you can see - the headstone is beautiful! The dates are 1933 - 2005. And there's a little saying at the bottom "WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?". Frank often asked that question about LIFE. The staff at the cemetery loved Frank - the burial vault was painted Riddler-Green and had a Large Question Mark on it -- I'm sure Frank would have LOVED it!!

I received a very lovely card from Dottie (Frank Gorshin's sister) in June 2005. In it, she enclosed a Memorial Card that had a poem dedicated to Frank. It's beautiful.
IN MEMORY OF FRANK JOHN GORSHIN
AFTER GLOW ---
I'd like the memory of me to be a
happy one, I'd like to leave an
afterglow of smiles when day is
done. I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing
times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who
grieve to dry before the sun, Of
happy memories that I leave
behind When day is done ....

Frank as Captain Hook in the Play Peter Pan - 1981.
I wish I had been a soap opera watcher in the 80's .... I had no idea Frank had done so many insane characters on the EDGE OF NIGHT t.v. show. Even a photo of him in "drag".... OMG!! And, if the scan is clear enough, check out that little baby's EYES looking at Frank ... the kid looks like her eyes are going to pop out!! ha-ha. ElaineFriday, July 8, 2005
